PAKISTAN WAS NOT MADE FOR A SMALL PRICE, WE MUST NEVER GIVE UP ON OUR NATION: BY: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

For anything worth anything, the price is grave; this also stands true for a nation. Pakistan was not made at a cheap price. Estimates of the death toll at the partition of the Indian subcontinent are said to be in excess of 1.1 million, and of these, over a 100,000 were only from Jammu and Kashmir. So with this sacrifice in mind, should we simply give up, and undo the sacrifices of the past and revert to pre-Islamic tribalism and division? This does not make any sense.

And yet, the struggle and sacrifice continues until this day. Grave atrocities are being committed by more than 700,000 Indian forces against the Kashmiri citizens cannot be forgotten. The Indian regime and its armed forces have killed more than 202,841 citizens, made 216,033 arrests, 110,155 have disappeared, 115,813 homes demolished, leaving 122,837 widows and 207,386 orphans. As such, it is clear that the sacrifices have not ended and it is a known fact of what the status of Muslims is in India. Even the Sikhs who had always been allies of Hindus were not spared in India. In case of independent Kashmir its status will not be better than Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, or Bangladesh. Allah (SWT) clearly asserts in the Quran in Surah number 3, Ayat 103, “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.” It is quite clear that we have been ordered to live together as brothers, united, and the consequences of not doing so are clearly also highlighted. These are consequences that we can see before us today.

The 4200 square miles called Azad Kashmir after so many sacrifices by all means is a part of Pakistan; there is no doubt about it!. Azad Kashmir’s ties with Pakistan are no different than any other integral part such as Karachi. We the Muslims of Maqbooza Kashmir are pushing towards to freedom so that we can be free of the illegal occupation of India and once again reunite with Pakistan. Everything is in the hands of Almighty God. As such, we only have two aspects which we can control; to keep our intentions clean and to put our practical efforts and struggles for this cause.

THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR MAQBOOZA KASHMIR RESTS ON THE TWO NATION THEORY AND THE GUIDANCE OF THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

In the days of colonialism, nations would colonize other nations on the basis of civilizing them. Europeans states asserted that they were on a mission to bring civilization to non-Europeans, those which they thought were devoid of culture, civilization, and reason. Today, it is well accepted that colonialism was one of the darkest stages of human history. However, despite this acknowledgement, many falsely believe that this systematic domination of the North over the South has ended now that sovereign states have been established in those parts of the world which use to be colonized. These individuals are sadly mistaken.

Although political sovereignty has been given on paper, still, post colonial domination remains. States of the “third world” still remain dependant on capital/financing from the European/North American world. Still they fulfill the same economic functions that they use to perform in the colonial period producing raw materials, some lesser forms of manufacturing, serving as consumers for rich nation’s products, and are trapped in a debt cycle.

Not only is this domination in the economic form, but politically their states are kept weak. This is especially true for the Muslim world which has been divided based on region, based on language, based on sects etc. Take for example the Middle East, separated from Turkey; an area that used to be one in the form of the Arabian Peninsula is now divided into 22 weak states. As a result, the Muslims lost their holy mosque to Israel called Bait-Ul-Muqaddas (Qibla-e-Awwal). Systematic destabilization is rampant across the Muslim world. Thus, we have a situation where all forms of violence motivated by a plethora of different factors is common place whether that be in the Arab world, Iran, Pakistan etc. One can point a finger at any Muslim nation in the world and the story is the same; political instability, poverty, corruption, and violence predicated in part by those factors mentioned above.

Make no mistake, the Indian government has left no stone unturned to destabilize Pakistan in order to spread the disease of division within the state. This same story is playing out in Maqbooza Kashmir (also known as Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu and Kashmir), where India is dead set to divide us on the basis of region, sect, language etc. It has always been the attempt of India to categorize Maqbooza Kashmir a separate entity when it begins to lose its grip upon it. This is a ploy in order to keep Pakistan weak, deter the only legitimate claimant to Kashmir, and to delegitimize the cause of Maqbooza Kashmir. The Indian state has gone even as far as merging the Sikh state of Punjab, Khalistan in order to establish regional hegemony. However, when it came to Pakistan, they dismembered East Pakistan on the basis of language by force.

As such, we must realize that the only way the Muslim world will ever gain power, and have the dignity which they once had is by flocking back to what originally made them a force to be reckoned with; they must attach themselves with the true teachings of Islam. This is the only solution. Division, based on whatever form must end as this is crippling any chance for the oppressed in Maqbooza Kashmir, and for the prosperity of the Muslim world

MAY ALLAH ALMIGHTY BLESS BRIGADIER USMAN KHALID; A VISIONARY, SOLDIER, AND A HERO: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

MAY ALLAH ALMIGHTY BLESS BRIGADIER USMAN KHALID; A VISIONARY, SOLDIER, AND A HERO: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

/2014/04/may-allah-almighty-bless-brigadier.html

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

The Kashmir Diaspora Alliance would like to extend their deep gratitude and prayers to Brigadier Usman Khalid’s family for his sad passing. Also, we pray for Brigadier Usman Khalid that Allah reward him for all his sacrifice and hardships in this life with countless blessings in the hereafter, that He forgive all of his sins, and, that He give him safe passage to heaven without judgment. It is essential to realize that the individual that we speak of at this moment was not only a great visionary, but he was a true warrior and soldier sacrificing himself on untold levels in order to stand up and fight for those who deserve justice, for those who are oppressed!

Not only was he a soldier, and leader, he was blessed with a profound level of knowledge and was full of revolutionary solutions and ideas to the problems which the Pakistani state faces today. He utilized this knowledge not for personal profit or selfish means, but rather, for the emancipation of the oppressed. He not only spoke out for his fellow human beings which shared his religious faith through standing up for the Kashmiri cause; but moreover, he stood up against all forms of oppression often writing and protesting against the injustices and hardships faced by Dalits, Adivasis, Sikhs, and all other oppressed groups globally.

But most important, Brigadier Usman Khalid was a man of faith, and man of Islam. He had an unrelenting belief in God, and this is what drove him to serve and fight for justice for all of humanity regardless of faith. As such, we all owe a grave debt to this blessed man for the sacrifices he has made for us, and for our futures. Once again, May Allah Almighty bless him, and may we all learn lessons from his life in order to follow in his footsteps. Ameen.

YET ANOTHER PRECEDENT HAS BEEN SET IN CRIMEA: INDIA MUST ACT SWIFTLY: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

YET ANOTHER PRECEDENT HAS BEEN SET IN CRIMEA: INDIA MUST ACT SWIFTLY:
HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

In view of the decades of atrocities committed on the people of Maqbooza Kashmir and their persistence struggle for freedom, there is absolutely no justification for the Indian presence. There is no need to linger on with this matter, especially now that another precedence has been set in Crimea. As such, India must withdraw all of its occupation forces from the occupied territory of Jammu Kashmir so that the UN SC Resolution calling for plebiscite can be administered. Furthermore, we humbly request the International Criminal Court to take immediate action against the Indian government, and all those personnel in government and in the Indian forces which have taken part in the systematic oppression and genocide of the population.

Kashmir and Crimea

Crimea has finally seceded from Ukraine. It made a history of sorts when 97% of its population, including the sizeable minority of Tatars voted in favor of the secession. The event has brought Crimea to the centre of international attention. Some may argue that soon after its declaration of independence, it was annexed by Russia but that is a different story and subject matter of a separate debate.

The right of self determination resulting in secession from a State got first conceptualized as a response against colonialism but following World War I, it   took a definite shape as a principle of International law. The pronouncement of two Human Rights Covenants extended the ambit of this right as one available to all peoples. Simultaneously  the Resolutions of the General Assembly, laid emphasis that this right was available to even  peoples of sovereign states. In the last two decades, no contemporary norm of International law has been as much widely debated as the right of self determination of various groups of people or sub-groups of a nation, has been. This right means the choice of a people or a nation to determine freely by itself, its political and legal status as a separate entity and therefore it is the norm which is entrenched upon fundamental human-rights thesis that states that all peoples are equally entitled to be in control of their own fortunes & destinies.

This has raised an all important question of Kashmir’s right to self-determination, even accepting for a moment for discussion sake, the Indian claim of Kashmir being its integral part. The answer is provided by Matthew J Webb in his   Book published in 2012- Kashmir’s Right to Secede: A Critical Examination of Contemporary Theories of Secession. According to Matthew, an Australian professor of political sciences & Humanities, there are generally three theories which justify the right of people to a self determination or secession  from a nation State. These are “nationalist theory”, “liberal-democratic theory” , and ‘just cause theory”  and he has  explored the issue of Kashmir’s right to secede with  a critical & scholarly evaluation & analysis  of these  three streams of secessionist theory.
Webb upholds the right of Kashmir to secede from Indian Union on “Just cause theory”. He claims that since the act of accession of State to India, without knowing the will of his subjects, there has been a wide gulf between India’s democratic and secular ideals and the reality of it’s relationship with Srinagar. This has led to various bouts of disillusionments, the first of them as early as the 1950s. Persistent calls for Kashmiri secession have only intensified through the next three-and-a-half decades as disenchantment with assertive Indian actions mounted and finally took a violent turn in November 1989.He says that Kashmir has been treated unjustly & unfairly since inception. He cites reports by Amnesty International (1998, 2008 and 2011), Asia Watch and Physicians for Human Rights (1993), which have detailed arbitrary arrests, beatings, electrocution, intentional destruction of property, rape, torture, execution. To further substantiate his case, Webb also discusses the notorious Armed Forces Special Powers Act of 1990 and the Prevention of Terrorism Act, which have contributed to the detention without trial of an estimated 8000 to 20,000 Kashmiris. He cites presence of mass graves & enforced disappearances as proof enough of India’s complicity in committing crimes against humanity rendering itself liable to international intervention & coercive action. Webb presents the two-decades of physical, psychological and sexual abuse resulting from the heavy-handed tactics of Indian security forces and the accompanying lack of legal redress as “perhaps the most compelling just cause for Kashmir’s secession.”

This book provides a new way of looking at the Kashmir dispute, by asking what these theories tell us about Kashmir, and in turn what the example of Kashmir allows us to learn about these theories. More importantly it lays a theoretical foundation for Kashmir’s right to secede from Indian Union.

OUR STRUGGLE WILL PERSIST UNTIL MAQBOOZA KASHMIR IS LIBERATED: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

OUR STRUGGLE WILL PERSIST UNTIL MAQBOOZA KASHMIR IS LIBERATED: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

The human has been blessed with two exceptional qualities; a good intention and due efforts. Our purpose in life is simply to keep a good intention and to put forth efforts in the direction of our goal. To accomplish this, we need the help of Allah (SWT). Accordingly, we must struggle until Maqbooza Kashmir has been liberated from illegal occupation of the Indian government, and it has been made a part of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Also, with regards to the peaceful struggle of those in Punjab, Khalistan; we would like to assert that we are in full support of the Sikhs who are also facing oppression at the hands of the Indian government.

INDIA MUST WITHDRAW ITS FORCES FROM MAQBOOZA KASHMIR: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

INDIA MUST WITHDRAW ITS FORCES FROM MAQBOOZA KASHMIR: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

We are very thankful to Almighty God (Allah), and those which he inspired to sacrifice so much so that we were able to liberate at least some of the state of Kashmir what is known today as Azad Kashmir consisting of 4200 square miles. For the rest of the territory, India must withdraw its forces so that plebiscite can be administered as per the UN resolutions so that its inhabitants can decide their fate. The presence of India in Kashmir is illegal as per international law. The international Court of Justice is therefore requested to take sue motto action for the atrocities committed by the occupant forces. Human rights organization records have indicated that over 200,000 innocent Kashmiris have been murdered. Not a single day goes by when Indian forces have not killed innocent citizens in Maqbooza Kashmir and have not dishonored and destroyed the lives of countless families. Similarly, we also demand that India withdraw its forces out from Punjab (Khalistan) as this area has been occupied since partition. Over 270,000 Sikhs have been murdered. When will the international community take a stand? When will the Indian state behave as it claims; one that is actually democratic and stands for the peace, true human security, and human rights of all.
