MR. MODI’S ARRIVAL IN MAQBOOZA KASHMIR IS NOT WELCOME: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

MR. MODI’S ARRIVAL IN MAQBOOZA KASHMIR IS NOT WELCOME: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and, the Indian government should take note that the Mr. Modi’s arrival in Kashmir alias Maqbooza Kashmir [also known as the Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu Kashmir (IDA:JK)] is not welcome. The fact of the matter remains that the Indian government, Mr. Modi, and also subsequent governments have failed to stop, let alone reverse the justices being committed within the occupied territory. This is not surprising because Kashmir plays a crucial geostrategic role in its bid for hegemony, and that Mr. Modi’s hands themselves are soaked with the blood of innocence.

One must not forget that it was Modi who essentially facilitated and ordered the massacre of thousands of Muslims in Gujarat just a few years back. It is ironic that the leader of the Indian state would celebrate Diwali in the very territory in which no celebrations need take place, and where the last thing on the populations mind is celebration. Are the people of Maqbooza Kashmir in any situation to celebrate with India’s Prime Minister? Rampant discrimination, open murder of the local populace with over 200,000 murdered, and a mere existence as a second class citizen is common place. Despite the attempted symbolism, there is nothing to celebrate!

Rather than focusing on demographic changes with occupied territories, or further establishing a hegemonic presence, the Indian state must take a few steps forward towards the peace process. This requires keeping human rights, fundamental freedoms, and democratic principles. Without these intact, with so many suffering; what Diwali, what celebration?

China warns India on road network plans

‘Don't make any move to complicate situation at border’

K J M VARMA

Beijing, Oct 15: China Wednesday sharply reacted to India's plans to construct a road network along the McMahon line in Arunachal Pradesh and expressed hope that India will not take any action which may complicate the situation before a final settlement is reached to end the boundary dispute."We still need to verify the specifics. The boundary issue between China and India is left by colonial past. We need to deal with this issue properly," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hong Lie told a media briefing here.He was reacting to comments by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs KirenRijiju stating that plans are afoot to construct a road network along the international boundary from Mago-Thingbu in Tawang to Vijaynagar in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh to match the China's infrastructure development. "There is a dispute about the eastern part of the China- India border. Before final settlement is reached we hope that India will not take any action that may further complicate the situation," Hong said."We should jointly safeguard the peace and tranquillity of the border area and create favourable conditions for the final settlement of the border issue," he said.India's concerns arise out of extensive road, rail air network developed by China in Tibet which could play pivotal in moving the troops and equipment at a greater speed in the rugged Himalayan region.Besides extensive highways, China's rail network came close to Sikkim border and Beijing has announced plans to build a new rail network up to Nyingchi which is close to the border of Arunachal Pradesh.China has built about five airports in the Tibet region.Beijing asserts that the infrastructure development is part of efforts to develop remote parts of Tibet. China claims Arunachal Pradesh as a part of Southern Tibet and disputes McMahon line. Chinese position is that the border dispute is confined to 2,000 kms mostly on Arunachal Pradesh where as India asserts that the dispute covered the western side of the border spanning to about 4,000 km.The two countries have held 17 rounds of Special Representative talks so far to resolve the boundary dispute. The issue also figured during last month's talks between Prime Minister NarendraModi and Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to India. The two leaders agreed to make efforts to resolve the border dispute at the earliest.

WE COMMEND THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN’S EFFORTS IN THE UNITED NATIONS: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

WE COMMEND THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN’S EFFORTS IN THE UNITED NATIONS: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

We strongly condemn the aggression of the Indian government on Pakistan. The fact of the matter is, Kashmir being a Muslim majority state, it is a part of Pakistan and its citizens are also apart of Pakistan. India has illegally occupied our territory. We really appreciate and commend the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the United Nations. We humbly solicit that the United Nations rules against the Indian government to remove all its occupation forces and end the decades long occupation and oppression of the people of Kashmir.

Pakistan approaches UN on Kashmir resolution

Sartaj Aziz writes to Ban-ki-Moon: Situation on borders deteriorating; India not desirous to engage in serious bilateral dialogue with Islamabad

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

Islamabad, Oct 12: Pakistan Sunday wrote to the UN chief Ban ki-Moon on the security situation along the Line of Control and the International Border with India and sought the world body's intervention in resolving the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of its people. In a letter to the UN chief, adviser to the Pakistan prime minister on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz accused India of "deliberate and unprovoked violations of the ceasefire agreement and cross-border firing" over the past weeks.

"I write to bring to your urgent attention the deteriorating security situation along the line of control in Jammu & Kashmir, as well as along the International Border between Pakistan and India...As you are aware, the Jammu & Kashmir dispute is one of the long outstanding issues on the agenda of the UN security council, whose resolutions promising the holding of a plebiscite, under the auspices of the United Nations, for self-determination of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, remain valid though unimplemented to date," Aziz wrote in the letter which was released by the Pakistan foreign office here.

He added that Pakistan has been reminding the UN and the international community since decades to fulfill that promise, in the interest of "durable peace and security in the region."Referring to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's address to UN general assembly last month during which he emphasized on the need to resolve the whole issue of Jammu & Kashmir, Aziz said "unfortunately, India has adopted a policy that runs counter to its stated desire to engage in a serious bilateral dialogue with Pakistan."

He added, "India cancelled, unilaterally and without any plausible justification, the foreign secretary-level talks that were scheduled to be held on August 25, 2014."Aziz wrote: “In his address to the UN General Assembly on 26 September, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had emphasized that the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir needed to be resolved. This is the responsibility of the international community. We cannot draw a veil on the issue of Kashmir, until it is addressed in accordance with the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister had also reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to work for resolution of this issue through negotiations.”Asking Ban to circulate the letter as an official document of the security council, Aziz said Pakistan believes that the UN has an important role to play in promoting the objective of peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue, including through his "good offices, which we have always welcomed, and the crucial role of the UNMOGIP on ground, which needs to be strengthened and facilitated under the current circumstances."Meanwhile, Indian firing across a border with Pakistan has killed 12 civilians and injured 52 in Pakistan so far this month, according to a Sunday press release from the Foreign Ministry.Aziz said that officials from UNMOGIP, a U.N. observation team, were going to the disputed border to observe the ceasefire violations. He said that Pakistan has exercised utmost restraint and responsibility in responding to these provocations."The Government of Pakistan sincerely hopes that better sense would prevail on the Indian side to prevent the situation from spiralling out of control," he said.

In the letter to Ban-ki-Moon, Islamabad has also charged India with escalating the situation along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and the Working Boundary. “Persistent shelling and firing by Indian forces has resulted in heavy civilian casualties on the Pakistan side. During the period 1-10 October, 2014, 20 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and 22 violations along the Working Boundary were reported, resulting in 12 civilian casualties, 52 injured civilians and 9 injured military personnel on the Pakistani side.  From June to August 2014, there were 99 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and 32 along the Working Boundary. In all, during 2014, 174 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and 60 along the Working Boundary have been reported,” Aziz wrote.

He wrote: “Pakistan appreciates your (UN chief’s) statement of 9 October in which you expressed concern about the recent escalation of violence along the Line of Control between India and Pakistan, and have deplored the loss of lives and the displacement of civilians on both sides. You have also encouraged the Governments of India and Pakistan to resolve all differences through dialogue.”

“Pakistan remains committed to peaceful resolution of all issues between India and Pakistan, including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir. This is in the best interest of both India and Pakistan and the region,” he wrote. PTI/Agencies

RHETORIC DOES NOT LEAD TO LEGITIMACY!: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

RHETORIC DOES NOT LEAD TO LEGITIMACY!: HABIB YOUSAFZAI
CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent rallying cry to the Indian populace is befitting of his government’s stance and actions on the ground in the occupied territories. The logic has been violence and rhetoric. Rather than coming to the table and pushing for peace talks, Modi is adamant on holding on illegal territories than have no belonging to the Indian state. The fact of the matter is that this is not some recent skirmish for which Pakistan and India are BOTH sacrificing innocent lives for. Rather, it is deep rooted in India’s failure to come to the table for peace talks and administer a plebiscite in the IDA:JK (Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu and Kashmir). Modi’s reluctance is obvious; actually giving the people on the ground their fundamental human right of self-determination will surely lead the secession of Kashmir to Pakistan.

However, as mentioned earlier, this is just one recent clash of decades of occupation. The Indian governments occupied Muslim’s majority territories such as Kashmir and those of other minorities such as the Sikh state of Punjab, Khalistan which was also merged in to India under the pretext that Sikhs were Hindus. The Indian government did not stop there; it also occupied Muslim states of Junagarah, Manawader, and Hyderabad illegally.

It is imperative for any civilized state, especially one that claims to be the largest democracy in the world to live up to its claim. Mr. Narendra Modi’s expansionist logic is bankrupt of morality. Rather than spending millions in firing artillery and sacrificing lives of Indian personnel who have no real connection to the cause, perhaps these funds would be better spent in the peace process, or for that matter, at least on the lives of the masses which live in poverty.

Mr. Modi must realize that rhetoric doesn’t lead to legitimacy, and rallying the Indian populace does nothing other than further solidify misinformation and support for a cause which has no violent solution.

Pakistan has been taught befitting lesson: Modi

AGENCIES

Dhamangaon (Maharashtra), Oct 10: As firing from across the border declined, Prime Minister NarendraModi Friday said Pakistan has been taught a "befitting lesson" with the Army "shutting their mouth"."Pakistan has got a befitting lesson. They will not dare to repeat it again. Our jawans have shut their mouth," he said addressing an election rally here on Friday. The Prime Minister said those living close to the border with Pakistan who had to leave their homes following nine days of heavy mortar shelling and firing will be adequately compensated by the Centre."I assure you, the government of India will act promptly to provide adequate compensation to those who had to leave their homes due to shelling and migrate elsewhere," he said. Modi also slammed Congress for targeting him over his government's response."Congress is busy issuing statements over what is happening on the Pakistan border. This is not the time for empty 'boli' (talk) by them, but for 'goli' (bullet) by our jawans," he said.

FIGHTING ON THE LOC IS NOT THE SOLUTION: ADMINISTERING A LONG OVERDUE PLEBISCITE IS: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

FIGHTING ON THE LOC IS NOT THE SOLUTION: ADMINISTERING A LONG OVERDUE PLEBISCITE IS: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

The debate on Kashmir has already been decided. Its inhabitants already gave their verdict to join the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in July 1947 under the banner of ‘Muslim Conference’ prior to its creation under the basis that it is a Muslim majority state. Since its independence, the Indian state is stressing the policy of Akhand Bharat against the wishes and aspirations of the Sikhs and other minorities. It is no surprise that this discrimination stems from decades ago when just as Kashmir was forcefully occupied by India [also known as Maqbooza Kashmir or Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu Kashmir (IDA:JK) as designated by the UN], the Sikh state of Punjab, Khalistan was also merged in to India under the pretext that Sikhs were also Hindus. The Indian government did not stop there; it also occupied Muslim states of Junagarah, Manawader, and Hyderabad illegally. Despite their repeated claims, Sikhs have been forcefully merged under the banner of Hinduism. Sikhs cannot even be married without being considered as Hindus. This is a denial of their fundamental human rights.

The fact of the matter remains that Hindus never ruled India as a collective body; it was actually Muslims which united the Indian sub-continent and ruled it for hundreds of years. Unfortunately, despite the sacrifices of others, the Indian state feels as though India is only for Hindus and that the people of other religions should convert to Hinduism, and yet, allows for no claims to be made for their own sovereign state. UN and other Human Rights organization indicate that more than 270,000 Sikhs, 200,000 Muslim Kashmiris, and 500,000 Muslims all over India have been mercilessly murdered. Please read the report:“ETHNIC CLEANSING IN AHMEDABAD A PRELIMINARY REPORThttp://www.c3.hu/~bocs/shanti/fpanyagok/genocide.htm.At this day of writing Muslim’s genocide is going on again in Ahmadabad by the Hindu extremists.

Most recently, the Indian government, rather than coming to the table for peace through a plebiscite has chosen to continue its illegal occupation opting into fighting on the line of control in Kashmir in order to hold onto its illegal claims. The suffering and death of innocent civilians must end. Rather than violating temporary agreements, as Pakistan has asserted for years now, a plebiscite must be administered immediately so the will of the people can be determined.

Bilawal takes on Modi

Says, Pak can retaliate unlike his victims from Gujarat

Islamabad, Oct 8: Days after he vowed that Pakistan will take back entire Kashmir, the country's 'Gen Next' politician Bilawal Bhutto Zardari today attacked Prime Minister NarendraModi, saying Pakistan can retaliate "unlike his victims from Gujarat". Accusing India of adopting "Israel model" against Pakistan, the 26-year-old scion of the Bhutto family said on Twitter, "Another attack on LOC. seems India adopting Israel model vs Pakistan. Modi must realize we can retaliate unlike his victims from Gujarat."He said this amid escalating tension between the two countries after ceasefire violations and heavy mortar shelling along the Line of Control that has claimed at least 12 lives on both sides. Bilawal's comments came days after he had said that his Pakistan People's Party (PPP) would get back entire Kashmir from India. "I will take back Kashmir, all of it, and I will not leave behind a single inch of it because, like the other provinces, it belongs to Pakistan," he had said, addressing the party workers in Multan region in Punjab on September 19.Bilawal, who has announced plans to contest next general elections in 2018, heads the secular Pakistan People's Party which officially wants good ties with India. His mother, former slain premier Benazir Bhutto, was twice elected as prime minister while his maternal grandfather Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who founded the PPP in 1967, also served as prime minister in 1970s.

HAPPY EID UL ADHA TO ALL!:HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

HAPPY EID UL ADHA TO ALL!:HABIB YOUSAFZAI,
CHAIRMAN KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSLAAM-O-ALAIKUM!

As another Eid comes around, and another year passes, many are celebrating this joyous occasion with times with family, and sacrificing of an animal in the name of Allah, to the benefit of the poor and needy, and perhaps to amend old ties that were once broken.

However, we should always remember that the significance of Eid is not merely the act of sacrificing an animal; its basis is the act of self-sacrifice. Looking back to this great celebrations origination where Prophet Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his beloved son, Prophet Ismael the individual that he loved most. This is the core values that this celebration signifies; sacrificing oneself for the sake of Allah (SWT) and the benefit of mankind. This celebration is a moment of self-reflection and analysis of where we actually stand in the serving of others.

How many voices have we raised for the oppressed? At this moment, a flood has swept across occupied Kashmir [Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu Kashmir (IDA:JK)] and we cannot expect the oppressor and the occupier, the Indian government to be the cause of relief. In fact, the Indian government is the cause of untold hardship and atrocities for the people on the ground having murdered over 200,000 civilians since occupation. What are we doing for the cause of the oppressed? What are we sacrificing? Are we really living up to the celebration that is Eid Ul Azha and its true message?

As such, we must push forward to sacrifice first and foremost for all those around us, but we must not forget that our sacrifice whether through wealth, time, or physical effort is also a necessity for the betterment of humanity, whether in occupied Kashmir, or any other group which is oppressed. Over 2 million people were gathered for Arafat this year and they were from all walks of life whether white, black, Kashmiri, Nigerian, Libyan, Arab; but the bottom line was that they were all unified by one cause and that is the faith of Islam. Rather than sacrificing for others, what is our state of affairs? We are determined to nothing but dividing amongst one another. If we are too busy causing rifts within our families, within the nation, can we claim to be holding to the principles of Islam, to the true message of Eid Ul Azha? Can we ever claim to have sacrificed for others?

Let us come together and unite so that we can help not only ourselves, our families, but the entire world including those in (occupied Kashmir) IDA:JK.
