INDIA QUIT THE ILLEGAL OCCUPATION OF JUNAGARH, MANAWA, HYDERABAD,
AND IDA: JK: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE
ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM
If the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and India cannot see eye to
eye on a resolution in the Kashmir issue than international powers must
intervene. Grave human rights violations
and death are directly the result of decades of occupation. The Muslim
population is the one suffering. It is a well known fact that over 100,000
civilians were mercilessly killed in Jammu in 1947 by Maharaja Hari Singh (the
Hindu ruler of Kashmir). Thereafter, on October 27, 1947, Indian forces attacked
and occupied 42,000 square miles of the state of Jammu and Kashmir also known
as Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu and Kashmir (IDA:JK) which is
predominantly populated by Muslims. Since
its occupation, Indian forces have killed more than 200,000 civilians in order
to suppress their voices for freedom. Despite this genocide taking place, the
people of Hindu faith are still loyal to India. In case of cessation of IDA:JK
from India, the vast majority of Hindus will undoubtedly migrate back to India.
We cannot place both countries involved in the dispute on a leveled field; India
is the aggressor as evidenced by its continued occupation of Muslim states such
as Junagarh, Manawa, and Hyderabad. In order to maintain its illegal
occupation, it has also annexed the Sikh nation of Punjab (Khalistan) in order
to increase its material power. Therefore, India must withdraw its occupation
forces from these Muslim states, including the 42000 square miles of Jammu and
Kashmir which it has occupied since October 27, 1947.
