The chairman of the Kashmir Diaspora Alliance strongly condemns the arrest and detentions of Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and his associates. He asserted that freedom is the birth right of every human being given by Allah (SWT) and India has no right to keep them under subjugation. Indian forces have occupied 42,000 square miles of the state of Jammu Kashmir and have enslaved them since October 27, 1947. Initially its forces entered the territory under the pretext of maintaining law and order. The United Nations has passed several resolutions and proclaimed that the inhabitants of the Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu Kashmir have inalienable right to decide their fate. India is the biggest colonizer of the 20th century. It is also occupying the Sikhs inherited homeland Punjab (Khalistan) since they received freedom from the British on August 15, 1947. Its forces have killed more than 270,000 Sikhs and over 200,000 Kashmiris in the occupied territories. To this day, India continues to illegally occupy these areas and the people residing in it at gunpoint.
Malik shifted to Central Jail
Srinagar, June 24: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik was Tuesday shifted to Central Jail Srinagar along with other party leaders including Noor Muhammad Kalwal. Reports said Malik was taken to Police Hospital here for medical examination wherefrom he was shifted to the Central Jail.Malik, Kalwal and scores of party cadres were Monday detained at Lal Chowk ahead of JKLF’s “Quit Kashmir Movement’.
Those shifted to Central Jail include zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Nazir Ahmad Rather, Habibullah Dar, Basharat Ahmad, Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganai and Muhammad Shafi Lone.JKLF supreme leader Amanullah Khan said “these arrests, oppressive measures against peaceful political programs, restrictions, barricades and tyrannical acts have once again proved that India which claims to be the biggest democracy of the world is not even familiar with the norms of this virtue in Jammu Kashmir.”
