Yasin Malik’s Pakistan visit ends, arrives in New Delhi
Shiv Sena, BJP Activists Protest At IGI Airport; 3 Held

New Delhi/Islamabad, Mar 9: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in New Delhi from Pakistan this evening after a private visit to the country.
Malik arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport where a group of youth purportedly belonging to Shiv Sena and Bhartiya Janata Party held protests against his arrival. Malik was however safely taken out of the airport by police.As soon as he came out of the airport after immigration check, a group of youth started raising slogans against him. He was pushed around and jostled by them but was rescued by the police and taken out of the airport. Three protestors were later arrested by police.
Talking to Greater Kashmir after landing here, Malik said some protesters belonging to BJP and Shiv Sena raised slogans against him at the airport. “I was physically manhandled by them and they threw around my luggage,” he said. Malik arrived in New Delhi amid apprehensions that he might be arrested or put under house detention for having shared a platform with the Jamat-ud-Dawa Chief Hafiz Sayeed during a rally organized by the separatist leader in Pakistan to protest the hanging of Afzal Guru. The reports, however, were refuted by the Home Ministry sources who maintained that no such action was being contemplated against him. Malik had repeatedly stated that he had not invited Hafiz Sayeed to the rally.Asked whether he intended to travel to Srinagar on Sunday, Malik said he would decide about his future course of action after settling down. The Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Muhammad Yasin Malik after concluding his month-long visit to Pakistan left for New-Delhi from Lahore via Pakistan International Airlines’ flight number PK 270.A spokesman of the JKLF told Greater Kashmir that Delhi-bound flight, which was scheduled to take off at 2:30 pm from Lahore airport got delayed by two hours. He said Malik was traveling alone since his wife and 11-month old daughter have not been issued visa by the Indian authorities.
The spokesman said that Malik’s spouse and her daughter had formally applied online for Indian visa some three weeks back. “Despite fulfilling all the basic requirements there has been no progress on the matter,” the spokesman added.Pertinently, the JKLF chairman during his stay in Pakistan have had several meetings with cross section of political leadership of Pakistan as well as the Kashmiri leaders hailing from both sides of Line of Control. Besides addressing public gatherings in PaK, Malik staged a 24-hour long hunger strike in Islamabad against the hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru.
With a view to express solidarity with Kashmiris, representatives of civil society, leaders from PaK and particularly Jamat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Syeed visited the Malik’s hunger strike camp, which unfortunately created flutters in sections of Indian media.
