ALL OF
THE WORLDS CIVILIZED NATIONS ARE URGED TO COME FORWARD AND HELP THE CAUSE OF
THE IDA:JK AND PAKISTAN: HABIB YOUSAFZAI,THE CHAIRMAN KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE
ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!
The
Indian army illegally occupied Maqbooza Kashmir [United Nations designated it
as Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu and Kashmir (IDA:JK)] in October
1947 under the pretext of maintaining law and order. Since its illegal
occupation, rampant human rights violations have taken place against the people
of the illegally occupied territory. These violations include killing, maiming,
unlawful detentions and dishonoring of women. UN and other human rights
organizations have confirmed that more than 200,000 innocent civilians have
been killed largely in a bid to suppress their voices of freedom. It is very
hard to accept the stance of “maintaining law and order” as originally touted
by the Indian state as a legitimate reason for continued occupation. It is undeniable
that the Indian state is a major violator of human rights particularly those of
its minority groups and especially in those regions which it has illegally
occupied which these individuals reside. The situation in IDA:JK is not unique;
the Indian army has killed more than 270,000 Sikhs in the Punjab Khalistan, a
territory it merged with India against the wishes of Sikh people. Shamelessly,
Indian forces have perpetrated countless violations outside its borders as well
as in the case of Srilanka where its personnel systematically raped and killed
women of the local population.
With
its growing bid for hegemony and in order to free all those that have been
occupied in Maqbooza Kashmir and abroad, Pakistan needs immediate assistance
from the international community. This must come through a dual strategy of
political and economic sanctions on the Indian state through various means such
as international organizations and must take place with immediate effect.

Intl aid to flood-hit Kashmir: KCSDS
ALLOW
INTL AID TO FLOOD-HIT KASHMIR: KCSDS
Srinagar,
Sep 15: With Kashmir ravaged by floods, a civil society group on Monday sought international aid for
reconstruction of the valley, saying the government of India was “not
doing enough” on rescue and rehabilitation front. Members of Kashmir Centre for
Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) held a meeting here asking New
Delhi to allow international agencies to start relief and rehabilitation
programs in Kashmir. "The relief and rehabilitation work is going on
dismal pace. We demand an international intervention," said a
statement by the KCSDS.
The civil society group said if international aid was availed at time of natural calamities in Bhuj (Gujarat) and Latur, why was government of India hesitant to seek it for helping the flood-affected Kashmir.
The statement said: “At the time of earthquake in Azad Kashmir (Pakistan administered Kashmir), international aid flew from US, Turkey, Italy and China. Why is India not accepting the international aid this time? It seems to be a deliberate move to increase hardships of Kashmiris," the statement said.
The organization has also asked the centre and the state government employees, especially those working with Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Local Urban Bodies, to return to their duties. "The city is full of garbage and debris. It should be cleaned on war-footing otherwise there are chances of epidemic in Kashmir," the KCSDS said.
The KCDS has said that the government should immediately utilize dewatering pumps to clear water from various submerged colonies. "If the government has no dewatering pumps or it is running short of them, international agencies are ready to provide them. The government should give up false prestige and accept the aid from the international bodies," the KCSDS added.
