Srinagar, Aug 10: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed
Ali Shah Geelani has extended the strike call for one more day and has urged
people to observe state wide shutdown on Sunday against the Kishtwar clashes. In a statement here Geelani
said: “After monitoring the situation in Kishtwar and rest of the Jammu
province and keeping in view the present position in Kishtwar town where strict
curfew has been implemented and five hundred military and paramilitary
personnel have been called from Jammu to control the situation in this small
town and people especially those belonging to Muslim community are being
harassed,in view of the gross damage to their property also we urge people to
observe statewide shutdown on Sunday (August 11, 2013).
Meanwhile, Kashmir Bar Association as a mark of protest against the Kishtwar incident has decided to abstain from work on August 12, 2013, a KBA spokesman said.
