SUCCESSFUL PROTEST AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION DAY OF INDIA AT THE PEARSON CONVENTION CENTRE BRAMPTON CANADA: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

In the Indian state, the Indian armed forces are killing minorities and under the banner and support from various different parties, the extremists from the Congress Party, Shiv  Sena Party, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sang (RSS) and Bhartia Janta Party (BJP) are luring Christians, Sikhs, and Muslims to convert to Hinduism under a “Ghar Wapsi Program”. This program optimizes a clear form of denial of one’s human rights. Rather than providing basic services and social programs, along with protection to minorities from both physical harm and societal discrimination; the Indian government is taking advantage of the most oppressed by coercing them to change their religion, or so call “revert back to Hinduism” in exchange for the “right to life”. In other words, if minorities, who have been systematically discriminated against, have not been given equal opportunities within a society that claims to be secular convert to a foreign religion, Hinduism, the government is willing to provide certain incentives and essentially is willing to dub these human beings as humans once again, worthy of human rights.

In response to this program, and the Indian governments and armies long standing and illegal occupation of foreign territories, a protest was arranged by Habib Yousafzai and Balkar Singh outside the Pearson Convention Centre to raise and take a stand against the consulate General of Toronto India as he was celebrating and propagating January 26, 1950 as the Constitution Day of India. Allegedly, this is the day in which India became the largest democracy in the world. But behind the banner of democracy, the true actions of the Indian state are clearly exposed when analyzing its actions in occupied territories of Maqbooza Kashmir, Punjab, Khalistan and even within its domestic sphere against minorities. Some 67 years ago Indian forces landed in Kashmir on October 27, 1947 under the guise of maintaining law and order and stayed there after making one excuse or the other. According to the Indian subcontinent partition plan, the Muslims of Kashmir gave their verdict on July 19, 1947 to accede to Pakistan.  This was the major logic behind the protest which successfully got its message across that India is an illegal occupier, and has no right or claim on its occupied territories as a legitimate party. It is only under the banner of the United Nations that swift and prompt action must take place as at the moment, it is as though the occupier, the one committing the atrocities, the Indian state, is being rewarded due to its occupation.

With more atrocities committed daily, more lives lost every day, and a swift plan of demographic changing underway, the international community must move swiftly. This is that we must understand. That there is a definite sense of urgency and we must take action now.
