THE TRAITORS OF THE PAST AND THE EFFECTS THAT REMAIN UNTIL TODAY: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

THE TRAITORS OF THE PAST AND THE EFFECTS THAT REMAIN UNTIL TODAY: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, CHAIRMAN OF THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE
ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

The trio Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, V. B. Patel, and C. L. Tervedi bribed Sheikh Abdullah also known as Mir Abdullah of Kashmir and was the cause of Kashmir not being able to accede to Pakistan. As a direct result of his actions, the Indian Parliament has illegally made the claim which is endorsed by the resolution passed by Sheikh Abdullah’s government in the State of Jammu and Kashmir also known as Maqbooza Kashmir that it is an integral part of India. However, as per the partition plan, and because of the fact that the Indian state claims to be a democracy, the actions of one individual whose leadership holds no veracity does not give the Indian state any legal legitimacy to occupy a territory for decades.
Nevertheless, due to Mir Abdullah’s actions, India received a passport to force her own will in the occupied territories and until today it has deployed more than 700,000 Indian forces who commit genocide against the Kashmiri people. The Maqbooza Kashmir today remains virtually devoid of human rights. To this day, the Indian regime and its armed forces have murdered more than 203002 citizens, made 216,194 arrests, 110,317 have disappeared, 115,982 homes have been demolished, leaving 122,992 widows and 207,535 orphans.
But Mir Abdullah is not unique in his abuse of power and treachery. Mir Jafar betrayed Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah at “Battle of Plassey” in 1757. He plotted against Nawab of Bengal by making a secret deal with Robert Cilve (the British commander) and surrendered to slaughter the army of Bengal in Plassey withholding his division from fighting. His betrayal is widely considered the start of British rule in India and was the key step in the eventual British domination of the subcontinent and clearly attests to the long lasting effects of those that betray the ones which they hold power over.
Another scenario worth considering is that of Mir Sadiq who held the post of a minister in the cabinet of Tipu Sultan of Mysore and was a General on the Mysorean Army. In the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, he, in accomplice with Purnhia (Chief Accountant and Finance Minister of State of Mysore), pulled the Mysorean army from the battlefield to collect their salaries, during the Siege of Seringapatam. This allowed the British forces to storm the Fort boundary wall with little defense, paving the way for a British victory. Mir Sadiq was killed by Ahmad Khan, one of the dismayed Mysorean troops, immediately following the defeat as he attempted to go over to his palace to the welcome the British.
It is clear that the Indian subcontinent has no shortage of individuals who for personal greed and quest for power have betrayed the masses while being in positions of power. This was the case with Mir Jafar, the case of Mir Abdullah which we can see the side effects of until today with India’s continued occupation of Maqbooza Kashmir, and remains intact as an issue today with many leaders of political power turning their backs on the oppressed. For their acts in the past, these individuals will forever be known and their names will be synonymous with the identity of traitors. But as mentioned earlier, the residue of their actions remain today and we must all learn from their actions. We must unite and liberate Maqbooza Kashmir from Indian occupation in order to protect the masses from further atrocities and will use every means necessary until we achieve our ends.
