INDIA MUST WITHDRAW ITS OCCUPATIONAL TROOPS UNCONDITIONALLY: HABIB YOUSAFZAI KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

INDIA MUST WITHDRAW ITS OCCUPATIONAL TROOPS UNCONDITIONALLY: HABIB YOUSAFZAI KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

PRESS RELEASE JANUARY 27, 2013

Both the Kashmiri and Sikh Diasporas carried out a protest on January 27, 2013, outside Pearson Convention Center Brampton, Canada to send a strong message to the India's Consulate General who was present. Inside, the Consulate General of India, along with the Indian community, were celebrating India’s 64th Republic day.

While they were celebrating, the Indian community forgot that the constitution was rejected by the Sikh Parliamentarians in Indian parliament because the Sikh Homeland Punjab (Khalistan) was merged into the Indian union forcefully, without any vote for the right to self-determination or referendum. Besides, when the draft was developed, Sikhs were deprived of their identity and were homogenized as long haired Hindus. More than six decades after this event, 270,000 Sikhs have been mercilessly killed and their religious centers including The Darbar Sahib Complex, Amritsar, also mistakenly known Golden Temple Complex, was desecrated and destroyed in an 'undeclared' war on the Sikh Nation. This took place in the form of the brutal military "Operation Bluestar" of June 1984. The Indian government has ignored the reality that Punjab had been the sovereign territory of the Sikhs for centuries (1799 to 14th March, 1849) and, the Sikhs have been "Struggling to regain their lost sovereignty since 14th March, 1849, under the guidance of the teachings of their Respected Guru Sahebaans, inscribed in the Blissful Guru Granth Sahib. The Brahmins-Hindus' masters of Indian Congress have wiped off the map the sovereign Sikh Homeland Punjab (Khalistan) as well as Sikh Nation, the First Sovereign and Secular nation of the South Asian region.

Similarly, India occupied Manwadar, Junagarah, Hyderabad, and on October 27, 1947, forty two thousand square miles of the state of Jammu and Kashmir while enslaving its people. Kashmir is a state predominantly inhabited by Muslims. Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India took the matter to the United Nations which passed a resolution that the fate of the state of Jammu and Kashmir should be decided by plebiscite. To this day the Indian government is using false pretenses in order to avoid plebiscite which would have the destiny of the state decided by the democratic wishes of its citizens. In over six decades, the Indian government has killed over 200,000 citizens in the state and there is not one day that goes by in which the Indian government forgoes all its means in order to suppress the populace from their right of self determination and ultimate freedom.

The Indian government which is an illegal occupier is strategically trying to dictate the terms of settlement of this issue. It is arguing that for a plebiscite to take place that Pakistan should withdraw its forces from Azad Kashmir despite the fact that the entire state was to accede to Pakistan and is legally the territory of Pakistan. Thus, we can see how India as an occupier is attempting ignore the fact that it is the occupier and diverting the onus to the Pakistani state. This argument is extremely flawed as the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir and its citizens are Pakistani territory and citizens respectively. India is vehemently arguing this stance as a means to complicate the simple issue of plebiscite that must take place. Its stand exposes the mass hypocrisy and democratic deficit in the Indian state. To put into context, this argument is synonymous with Pakistan invading half of Delhi and six decades later propagating to the international community that India should withdraw from the other half in order to administer a plebiscite on the ground. In reality, the Indian state should have sanctions placed on it for behaving as a rogue state in the international system and should compensate the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir and the Pakistan state for the massive material and human rights costs that it has caused.

SIKHS WORLDWIDE PROTEST INDIAN REPUBLIC DAY: DR.GURMIT SINGH AULAKH

SIKHS WORLDWIDE PROTEST INDIAN REPUBLIC DAY: DR.GURMIT SINGH AULAKH

Republic Day a Celebration of Genocide, Repression

Not a Republic But a Fundamentalist Hindu Majority Tyranny

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 30, 2013 – Sikhs from worldwide protested January 26 on India’s Republic Day, the anniversary of the adoption of India’s Constitution.  More than 25 million Sikhs, as well as other minorities, observe Republic Day as a black day celebrating repression, genocide, and tyranny.  For minorities, India is neither a republic nor a democracy, but a Hindu fundamentalist tyranny.  As U.S. Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R-Cal.) said, “For the people of Jammu and Punjab and Kashmir, India might as well not be a democracy.  For them, India might as well be Nazi Germany.”

A republic is rule by law, with protection for the rights of all.  India is not living up to that standard.  What is there to celebrate, then, on Republic Day?  As Narinder Singh, a spokesman for the Golden Temple told America's National Public Radio in 1997, “The Indian government, all the time they boast that they are democratic, that they are secular.  They have nothing to do with a democracy, nothing to do with secularism.  They just kill Sikhs to please the majority.” Not one Sikh representative has ever signed the Indian constitution to this day.

On January 26, 1950, the Indian Constitution was adopted, establishing India as a republic.  According to Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann, a former Member of Parliament, the Indian government has murdered over a million Sikhs since 1982.  Sardar Inderjit Singh Jaijee, author of The Politics of Genocide, and Bibi Baljit Kaur of the Movement Against State Repression (MASR) told Dr. Aulakh that if it were not for the efforts of the Council of Khalistan, that number might be ten times as high.  India has also killed more than 300,000 Christians since 1948 (plus many more throughout the country), over 100,000 Muslims in Kashmir since 1988 (as well as at least 2,000 to 5,000 in Gujarat), and tens of thousands of Tamils, Assamese, Manipuris, Dalits, Bodos, and others.  The Indian Supreme Court called the Indian government's murders of Sikhs "worse than genocide."  The police have abducted more than 50,000 young Sikhs, tortured and murdered them, then their bodies were declared unidentified and cremated. In 2012 alone, there were 131 reported violent incidents against Christians in India.  According to a report by the Movement Against State Repression (MASR), 52,268 Sikhs and tens of thousands of other minorities are being held as political prisoners in India without charge or trial.  Some have been in illegal custody since 1984!  Tens of thousands of other minorities are also being held as political prisoners, according to Amnesty International.

Dalits (the dark-skinned “Untouchables”) still cannot get out of the repression of India's caste system, which is still in force even though it was banned by the Constitution 63 years ago.  A Dalit constable entered a Hindu temple on a rainy day and was stoned to death. A Dalit girl was blinded by her teacher for drinking from the community water pitcher.  To this day, a high-caste Brahmin cannot tolerate the shadow of a Dalit, but Brahmins feel free to have sex with young Dalit girls without getting “contaminated.”

In 1986, Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochal, then Jathedar of the Akal Takht Sahib, who was later killed by the Indian government, held a Sarbat Khalsa on April 29, 1986 at Akal Takht Sahib, which passed a resolution for Khalistan.  Then on October 7, 1987, Jathedar Manochal and the Panthic Committee declared Khalistan independent.  They formed the Council of Khalistan as the government pro tempore and Dr. Aulakh as its president to lead the struggle for independence by gathering support from the Sikh diaspora and the international community.  Since then, the Council of Khalistan has led the effort, working very hard to achieve independence.  There are over 1500 statements by Members of the U.S. Congress in the Congressional Recordon the human rights violations against Sikhs and the independence of Khalistan.  The U.S. Congress has held many hearings on human-rights violations in India.  India has been exposed as a major oppressor of minorities and violator of human rights.  India must recognize the freedom of Khalistan and withdraw its occupying forces.

“We need a free Khalistan,” said Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh, President of the Council of Khalistan.  “That is the only way to stop the violence and corruption.  We need leadership in Punjab that is committed freeing Khalistan.  As Professor Darshan Singh said, ‘If a Sikh is not a Khalistani, he is not a Sikh’,” Dr. Aulakh noted. “It is time for a Shantmai Morcha to free Khalistan.  Every Sikh must do his or her part.”

MUSLIM INMATES SERVED ‘JHATKHA’ FOOD IN JAMMU JAILS: MASARATALAM GANIE

Muslim inmates served ‘jhatkha’ food in Jammu jails: HCBA

SRINAGAR: Muslim inmates lodged at different jails of Jammu province are being served ‘jhatka’ food, the J&K High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has said. “In all the jails, the inmates belong to different denominations with varying dieting habits. In all the jails in Jammu region there is a common mess in jail wherein according to the prisoners vegetarian and non-vegetarian food (Halal and Jatka) is prepared together and served to the inmates,” the lawyers’ body has said in its ‘Annual Jail Report’ detailing the plight of ‘political prisoners’. “In law it is the duty of the jail authorities to respect the fundamental right of personal belief and religious ideology of every inmate and have to treat them accordingly and the mess as such in jails deserves categorization.” “The inmates belong to different denominations with varying dieting (sic) habits. In all the jails in Jammu region there is a common mess in jail wherein according to the prisoners vegetarian and non-vegetarian food (Halal and Jhatka) is prepared together and served to the inmates. In law it is the duty of the jail authorities to respect the fundamental right of personal belief and religious ideology of every inmate and treat them accordingly and the mess as such in jails deserves categorization,” the report says. Demanding “separate mess for Muslims and non-Muslims inside as the Muslims are non-vegetarian and some of the Hindus are vegetarian in food habits,” the HCBA has said that doing so will help “every inmate in the jail develop a sense of protection of his fundamental right to personal belief and religious ideology.” The report was prepared by HCBA after its designated team of lawyers visited and interacted with the prisoners held at district Jail Poonch, Sub jail Rajouri, Central jail Kotbalwal, Jammu district Jail, Amphala Jammu, District Jail Kathua and sub jail Hiranagar Jammu this month. The Bar team headed by the Vice President HCBA Aijaz Bedar Advocate with its members Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, General Secretary, Bilal Ahmad Wani, treasurer and Advocate G. N. Shaheen and Hamid Shafi has made several other observations and  recommended measures to alleviate the condition of prisoners. The report has said that the prisoners were not treated in accordance with the Jail manual with political prisoners being lodged along with convicted criminals against the provisions of law.“The general health care is a problem inside the jails for want of sufficient, reasonable and appropriate doctors, paramedical staff and general medicines,” the report says adding “Mostly the jail inmates suffer from mental depression and skin diseases which need immediate medical attention and treatment.”The report further says that the under trial prisoners were subjected to delay in trials “and are not usually produced before the courts on due dates for hearing for want of security escort.” The report further mentions that the “militancy related prisoners and political detainees are badly suffering for want of appropriate legal aid.

THE LEGITIMACY OF INDIAN DEMOCRACY (HYPOCRISY)

The True Face of the Indian Democracy (Hypocrisy): United Front of Sikhs

Press Release

The independence day of India is a black day for Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, and other minorities in India. Out of the numerous examples of extremist acts, a few of them are listed below.

At present, all minorities in India - Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs - are threatened by the government and by the Shiv Sena, R.S.S.; BJP and the congress party, Hindu extremist groups supported by the government. As the Sikh Holy Shrine was destroyed under the rule of Indira Gandhi, the Holy Muslim shrine, the Babri Musjid, was destroyed under the leadership of the former home minister L.K. Advani. There is no record of those who were killed during the attack, as no death certificates were issued. Dead bodies and those of the wounded were thrown into dirty refuge trucks and a mass cremation was held, of which the victims’ families had no knowledge of. Another example of the hostility minorities in India must face every day is that of Graham Stan, an Australian Christian missionary and his two children who were burnt alive in their car by Hindu extremists because they were not Hindu. These Hindu extremists who were back by the Indian government, watched the burning car with joy and clapped as the car and its innocent occupants went up in flames. A more recent event that had shocked the Christian community in India was the headless body of Ude Barik, a Christian priest, was found in the village of Muni Gureu in the state of Orissa and hundreds churches were burnt down in Orissa and other parts of the country. Even to this day; these types of ridiculous and senseless acts of violence are occurring, whether it be killings in police custody or rape of innocent women and girls, all under this corrupt Indian government. These examples of atrocities against the minority groups in India are just a few of many, however, they do provide us with substantiated proof that minorities are not safe in India.

Due to all the injustices that the minorities in India face, the United Front of Sikhs is committed to helping the Sikh people of India to establish their own state with peaceful resources. We ask for the Canadian government to step in and help eliminate the injustices facing Sikhs and all other minorities while still maintaining all the integrity and respect of the Canadian laws.

We make an appeal to the international community to take notice of the denial of human rights in India. We hope that with the help of the United Nations, Amnesty International, and Asia Watch, these tragedies will come to an end. In our attempt to help the minorities in India, we ask the Canadian government to stop all trade with India until the Indian government allows the United Nations, Amnesty International, and Asia Watch to freely enter India and investigate the human rights violations occurring throughout the country and set a date for referendum in Punjab and Kashmir.

A LETTER TO INDIA BY A KASHMIRI ON INDIA'S REPUBLIC DAY: BASHARAT ALI

On India's Republic Day: A Letter to an Indian by a Kashmiri by Basharat Ali

Dear Brother,

Congratulations to you on your Country’s Republic day. I can see it is a great feeling. I can see the fruits of your freedom. May I too feel and have them one day.

I thought changing my profile picture to something black would not serve any purpose, better I should write to you.

I write to you from a part of the world begrudgingly cobbled to your map; the one that you call your crown, your integral part. I write to you from the beautiful Mughal gardens and bloodied Apple orchards. I write to you from the posh Gupkar roads and deserted Old Town streets. I write to you from the silent streams of Shopian and the doomed village of Poshpora. I write to you from the shade of every Chinar and the rear of every Poplar. I write to you from the cold kitchen of my widowed aunt and empty bedroom of my orphaned cousin.I have written to you profusely for the last two decades, since you arrived like an unsolicited guest and settled in every part of this paradise --- turning the land of dervishes into a garrison.

Whenever I move out I find more of your men and less of my own. My paradise is ruining fast and turning into a police state with fewer gardens and more camps, less flowers and more guns, less candies and more bullets, less candles and more tear-gas shells, less water and more blood. In my homeland, you question me, stop me, slap me, humiliate me and kill me. I'm helpless, I can't do anything. I've no gun in my hand. In my land you live with impunity. You can kill me and get away scot free. I can't throw a stone in reply to your blood thirsty bullet. I'm sentenced for two years imprisonment, to say the least. You have all the legal covers to be back to yourguarded camp but my chances are uncertain to make it back by evening. For all these years your country tried everything to purchase and suppress me. It used lots of money and loads of violence to crush my voice. But it could not buy and suppress my yearning for freedom.

You raped my sister in the broad day light, paraded my father naked in the chilling winter, took away my brother and buried him in a nameless grave but I still address you as brother. I've no enmity against you. I'm not for war but peace.

My Valley has witnessed the rise and fall of Kingdoms. It has laughed, it has wept and it has mourned. It has flourished and it has suffered; century after century. It has been a host, and it has been a victim. The history of my valley is colorful-----red. Walk through its pages and you will be face to face with aristocracy, slavery, deception, conspiracies, struggles, resistance and genocides.

Your country is, as you propagate, the largest democracy in the world. I don't really believe it is. I have all the reasons to challenge and contest your claims in any court of justice. Your own people doubt your democratic pretensions. Take the case of Salman Rushdie and M F Hussain as instances. Here in Kashmir your democracy pales into insignificance. You call us the integral part your country. But is this what you do with your integral part:In Kashmir we have 250,000 displaced, 70,000 people dead and 8, 000 enforced disappearance, more than 60,000 youth are grappling with drug addiction. We have widows, half widows and orphans.
I want to tell your country: Holding regular elections does not prove you own Kashmir. Sending funds and setting up developmental projects does not win you a place here. You have failed and continue to fail. Your words challenge your actions. Your policies are against our will. You are the reason my land is awash in weapons and sliding into chaos. You have used your institutions to oppress and suppress legitimate demands of Kashmiri people. Over the years our beautiful valley has turned into a mental asylum. Our leaders have over time become you. Our intellectuals have been persuaded to speak your repressive language.
Half a million of your men patrol through my villages with the latest weapons of warfare. Some of your men along with their families come here in different seasons. I welcome them with a smile on my face. I take them to places of their liking. I host them in house boats. I take them to the horse rides up to the hills. I make them enjoy the beauty that nature has gifted us with. I too visit your country. I've to make sure my identity proof is with me every time, no nail cutters, no scissors, nothing metallic is in my luggage. I have to search for my shelter. My motherland turns a menace for me. How pathetic? How shameful? I'm rejected at every door. "Sorry no Kashmiris allowed here". May I ask you why? May I ask you why am I taken to a police station every time there is a blast carried out by your own people? May I ask you why always does finger of suspicion go on my head? May I ask you why your police spies on me? May I ask you why sporting beard in your country is taken as sign of being a terrorist? May I ask you why your media is so powerful and mine stands banned? May I ask you; is this what your so called democracy is?

I pray ------your country produces more people like Anna Hazare. I pray ------your country hosts more commonwealth games. I pray ------your country brings 5G. You have more bills like Lok Pal to be debated in your Parliament. I have a lot to ask you and pray for you but I leave that for you to introspect and understand. At the end let me quote some words of Nitasha Kaul from a movie “Inshallah Kashmir: Living terror” Burn your Bollywood movies. Come to Kashmir
Walk through our cities, the bridges, the ruins, the graves. Look at what we eat. Look at our buildings. Our shrines. Our architecture. Our speech, Our history.
Speak to us. See how we live.

Yours oppressed Kashmiri.

PAKISTAN DOES NOT CLAIM KASHMIR ONLY ON THE BASIS OF RELIGION BUT THE FACT IS IT IS A TERRITORIAL DISPUTE BETWEEN INDIA AND PAKISTAN RECOGNIZED AROUND THE WORLD INCLUDING THE UN. IT GIVES PAKISTAN THE MUCH REQUIRED CLAIM OVER KASHMIRIS WHO ARE BONA FIDE CITIZENS OF PAKISTAN WHICH IS ITS LEGAL PER INTERNATIONAL LAW

A FRIEND FROM BHARAT ASKED IN THIS GROUP: PAKISTAN HAS NO CLAIM OVER KASHMIR ON THE BASIS OF TWO NATION THEORY, BECAUSE IT APPLIES ONLY OVER TO BRITISH INDIA: SHAHNAWAZ SHAH
Shot response: Pakistan does not claim Kashmir only on the basis of religion but the fact is it is a "territorial dispute between India and Pakistan recognized by world including UN". It gives Pakistan the much required claim over Kashmir.

Further other reasons include Religion: So true, that two nation theory applies only to British India. But then why India disputed a princely governed state JUNAGARDH'S ACCESSION ON THE BASIS OF RELIGION THAT IT HAS HINDU MAJORITY EVEN THOUGH ITS MUSLIM RULER ACCESSED WITH PAKISTAN (end quote).
Kashmir is JUNAGARDH IN REVERSE. That is how Pakistan has claim over Kashmir on the basis of RELIGION as-well just like India has over Junagardh. However its not due to two nation theory which applies only over British India.... And if you have brains, you can use it to understand the point.
Also the popular agitation against Indian rule in Kashmir proves Kashmiris are not satisfied with Indian rule. Rapes, fake encounters and mass killings by Indian army also point India is acting like a colonial power and the elections held in Indian occupied Kashmir cannot represent the will of Kashmiris as according to UN resolution elections cannot substitute plebiscite in Kashmir.

KASHMIRIS DECIPHER THE 26 JANUARY NOT AS INDIAN REPUBLIC DAY BUT AS BLACKDAY: CHAIRMAN ISLAMIC POLITICAL PARTY (JK) MR.MOHAMMAD YOUSUF NAQASH

PRESS RELEASE

JANUARY 23,2013

Senior Hurriyat member and Chairman Islamic Political Party (JK) Mr.Mohammad Yousuf Naqash has said that the advisory published by Indian police force is a dangerous threat of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons attack on Indian occupied Kashmir asking people to construct basements and underground bankers and store food grains and water. Mr.Naqash while commenting on such dangerous advisory said that Kashmiri people smell conspiracy in it as it seems that Indian government may now be preparing for nuclear, biological and chemical weapons attack on Kashmir in a bid to wipe out the whole population and apprehensions are that it may put its blame on Pakistan. But Kashmiri people are well aware about this fact that Pakistan besides being savior and well wisher of Kashmiri people is continuously extending moral, political and diplomatic support to their ongoing movement for realization of their inherent right, right to self-determination and will never ever think about any type of attack on Kashmir. Mr.Naqash further said that despite unabated brutal repression of Indian forces on Kashmiri people, Indian government has totally failed in curbing and suppressing their ongoing movement against Indian forced occupation. So India as a last resort may have conspired to wipe out whole Kashmiri population through such internationally banned weapons. As such it is the responsibility of every Kashmiri to raise voice and alarm against such possible threat and apprise international community including particularly United Nations Organisation for immediate intervention in this regard in the interest of saving humanity in Kashmir and realizing their birth right, right to self determination. Mr.Naqash has hailed raising Kashmir in United Nations Organisation by Pakistan and said that Kashmir being international dispute by virtue of many Kashmir specific united nations resolutions and is justified for international mediation for just, honorable and lasting solution in accordance with the principle of right to the self determination. Mr.Naqash has further stressed that united nations military observers group stationed on both sides of Kashmir for supervising cease fire should also devise the mechanic ism to monitor the uncertain situation crated by brutal operation of Indian forces in India occupied Kashmir and report the incidents of human rights violations date wise to united nations organization. Mr.Naqash has extended support to the strike call of pro freedom camps on 26 January and stressed people to observe 26 January Indian republic day as black day and remain indoors to impress upon the world that Kashmir is under the illegal and forced occupation of Indian and Kashmiri people are observing this day as a mark of protest against Indian illegal and forced occupation. Mr.Naqash has extended full support to the call of strike given by veteran pro freedom leader and chairman hurriyat conference (G) Janab Mr.Syed Ali Shah Geelani Sahib 25 Jan and 27 Jan against massacre in Handwara and Kupwara respectively by Indian forces,

CHRONOLOGY (REVISED): "ROBBED" PUNJAB, THE HOLY & HISTORICAL HOMELAND OF SIKHS. THE SIKHS "REJECTED" THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION OF INDIA. IT IS THE BLACK DAY FOR THE SIKH NATION, PUNJAB (KHALISTAN): DR AWATAR SINGH SEKHON (MACHAKI)

SIKH MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT "REJECTED" THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION IN INDIAN PARLIAMENT

The word India did not exist on the world map, atlas or any dictionary and encyclopedia of the English language until 29th March, 1849. On the other hand, PUNJAB, the Sikh Raj had been the first 'Sovereign and Secular Nation' of South Asia from 1799 to 14th March, 1849, under a Sikh Monarch, Ranjit Singh (1799 to 14th March, 1849). The Sovereign and Secular Sikh Raj lost its Sovereignty and Secularism on 14th March, 1849, to the forces of the British Empire. On 29th March, 1849, a declaration was made by the British Empire from Rawalpindi Radio that "PUNJAB, the Sikh Raj is "annexed" to the British Empire for the administrative purposes only.

The Sikhs of the Sikh Raj started their 'Struggle for Sovereignty, Independence and Political power right after the Sikh Raj's forces surrendered to the British Empire on the 14th day of March, 1849'. Their struggle to regain lost sovereignty has been, "Struggle to Regain Their Lost Sovereignty, Independence and Political power since 14th March, 1849 and continuing it to-date, i. e., 22nd January, 2013", going on and will continue it until the Sikhs' PUNJAB is "Sovereign, Independent and restore their political power, under the guidance of the Sikhs Holy Scripture, Guru Granth Sahib, and the Sikh Traditions."

Where were the Brahmins-Hindus and their so-called India? The Brahmins-Hindus had been "subservient" for more than 3,500 years and up until the early hours of 15th August, 1947.

Where had been "India", before 15th August, 1947? The word 'India' did not exist on the world map or as pointed out above. The word (India) was invented between 14th and 29th March, 1849, in England, as mentioned by the British agent Dalhousie in his Radio announcement from Rawalpindi (what is now the twin city of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan). Until 15th August, 1947, the Hindus-Brahmins had been"subservient" to the Afghans, Mughals, Sikhs, British, Portuguese, etc.

CHRONOLOGY: SIKHS OF (ROBBED) PUNJAB "REJECTED" THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION IN INDIAN PARLIAMENT

SIKH MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT "REJECTED" THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION IN INDIAN PARLIAMENT: DR AWATAR SINGH SEKHON (MACHAKI)

On 29th March, 1849, a declaration was made by the British Empire from Rawalpindi Radio that "PUNJAB to the Sikh Raj is "annexed" to the British Empire for the administrative purposes only.

The Sikhs of the Sikh Raj started their 'Struggle for Sovereignty, Independence and Political power right after the Sikh Raj's forces surrendered to the British Empire on the 14th day of March, 1849. The Sikhs have been "Struggling to Regain Their Lost Sovereignty, Independence and Political power since 14th March, 1849 and continuing it to-date, i. e., 22nd January, 2013, and will continue it until the Sikhs' PUNJAB is "Sovereign, Independent and restore their political power until the guidance of the Sikhs Holy Scripture, Guru Granth Sahib, and the Sikh Traditions.

The word India was invented between 14th and 29th March, 1849, in England, as mentioned by the British agent Dalhousie in the Radio announcement from Rawalpindi (what is now the twin city of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan). Until 15th August, 1947, the Hindus-Brahmins had been "subservient" to the Afghans, Mughals, Sikhs, British, Portuguese, etc.
India or the British East India Company or its successor the British India Empire was made up of the conquered Hindu and Muslim kingdoms by the British East India Company until 15th August, 1947.

PAKISTAN REJECTS INDIAN CLAIM OF FUTILE UN MISSION AT LOC

UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan rejected an Indian argument in the Security Council Monday that the role of United Nations Military Observers Group in India Pakistan (UNMOGIP), which monitors ceasefire along the Line of Control in disputed Kashmir, has been overtaken by the 1972 bilateral Simla agreement, saying the group’s mandate remained “fully valid, relevant and operative.”
“No bilateral agreement between India and Pakistan has overtaken or affected the role or legality of UNMOGIP,” Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan told the 15-nation Council after his Indian counterpart Hardeep Singh Puri questioned the status of the 42-member observer group in the course of a debate on UN peacekeeping.
The open day-long debate was convened by Pakistan, which holds the presidency of the Security Council for the month of January.
“The mission continues to monitor the ceasefire in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council,” said Khan.
The Indian ambassador raised the issue after Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Gilani, who presided over the council meeting, underscored the “important role” UNMOGIP has played in monitoring peace along the LoC.
As Ambassador Khan set the record straight, another Indian delegate challenged Pakistan’s stand.
Manish Gupta, a counsellor at the Indian Mission to the UN, said that UNMOGIP had been put in place to supervise the ceasefire line as result of the 1949 Karachi agreement.
That ceasefire line no longer existed. The new one was established on 17 December 1971 and followed by an agreement between the two countries in 1972, which settled their issues by peaceful means through bilateral negotiations, he said.
That resulted in conversion of ceasefire line into the Line of Control. “Thus UNMOGIP remains invalid,” the Indian delegate added.
“The fact is that both India and Pakistan are hosting UNMOGIP,” Khan replied.

REVISED:DEMONSTRATION AGAINST INDIA’S REPUBLIC DAY TO STOP GROSS HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS AND TO OUST THE INDIAN ARMED PERSONNEL FROM THE INTERNATIONALLY DISPUTED AREAS OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR AND KHALISTAN ("ROBED" PUNJAB OF 15TH AUGUST, 1947)

DATE JANUARY 27, 2013

TIME: 11:00 AM TO 14:00 HRS (PM)

PLACE: PEARSON CONVENTION CENTRE, 2638 STEELES AVENUE EAST, BRAMPTON, ONTARIO, CANADA

ISSUED BY: HABIB YOUSAFZAI

Kashmiris and Sikhs will be protesting on India's Republic day. India’s celebration of January 26th as Republican Day is a farce because it has failed to fulfill the real motto of what a republic stands for; justice and equality for all. It has enslaved 14 million Kashmiris and 30 million Sikhs in the illegally occupied states of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Sikhs' Holy and Historic Homeland Punjab that it “robbed" on 15th August, 1947. Both Kashmiris and Sikhs have been oppressed and humiliated for decades and continue to be dehumanized and their human rights violated. The Indian state has failed to protect the Kashmiris, Sikhs, Christians, Dalits and other minorities and thus failed to uphold Article 14A of the Indian Constitution which has been rendered ineffective by the states and the New Delhi administration since 26th January, 1950.Every individual who stands for the justice, equality of human rights, and the ejection of the Indian occupational forces from the occupied territories and states are cordially invited to attend. The protest will be held on January 27, 2013. The organizers are; Balkar Singh Heir, Dr. Azrab Khan, Khawaja Rafique, Shabbir Ahmad Bhatti, Engineer Zamiruddin Malik, Ayub Qureshi, Raja Idrees, Ifrahim Khan, Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Mohammad Aslam Qadri, Syed Noushad Hussain, Shahid Mahmood,Jamil Ansari,Qamar Khurshid,Farooq Siddiqi and Habib Yousafzai.

GAW KADAL MASSACRE “JANUARY 19, 1990″ IN ILLEGALLY OCCUPIED STATE OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR ALSO KNOWN AS INTERNATIONALLY DISPUTED AREAS OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR (IDA:JK)

GAW KADAL MASSACRE “JANUARY 19, 1990″ IN ILLEGALLY OCCUPIED STATE OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR ALSO KNOWN AS INTERNATIONALLY DISPUTED AREAS OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR (IDA:JK)

Gaw Kadal Massacre “January 19, 1990″
By: Ehsaan Qazi

Jagmohan was appointed on January 19, 1990. That night, in response to the kidnapping of Rubaiya Sayeed and other militant attacks, Indian security forces conducted warrantless and thus illegal house-to-house searches in Srinagar, hunting for illegal weapons or other evidence of support to the militants. They dragged many people out of their beds into the bitter cold. Many Kashmiris complained that they were beaten and abused.Jagmohan maintains that he had nothing to do with the decision.

The next morning, as word of the searches and beatings began to spread, people began to pour out into the streets of Srinagar. From the mosques, loudspeakers urged Kashmiris to come out and fight for azaadi, or freedom. Thousands of Kashmiris gathered to protest the actions of the security forces.

The state government declared a curfew, but few if any Kashmiris observed it.It was early evening when one group of marchers reached the Gaw Kadal Bridge on Srinagar’s Jhelum River. They were shouting slogans and some were pelting the soldiers with stones. Troops from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) opened fire into the crowd. Eyewitnesses say the shooting was a brutal and excessive use of lethal force against demonstrators. Many demonstrators were shot from behind as they turned to run away. Kashmiri news photographer Meraj-ud-din described the scene:

“When I reached Gaw Kadal, all I could see were the dead. I saw bodies of children, bodies of women, bodies of men…. Later they brought the bodies to the police compound. I saw them again. There I cried. I shouted, screamed. ‘Don’t do this to the people.’ That day I saw everything.”

Human Rights Watch, in its 1991 report on the shootings, criticized the killings and concluded that the use of lethal force was not proportional to the threat.

At least thirty-five people died. Many estimates put the toll near one hundred. Until then, this was the highest number of persons killed on a single day since the violence erupted in Jammu and Kashmir. The killings drew international attention. The London based daily, the Independent, carried an interview with one of the survivors, a thirty-eight-year-old mechanical engineer called Farooq Ahmad, who worked for the government:

“I was just standing watching the procession of Muslims demonstrating against India. It was curfew time and there were CRPF on both sides of the lane. They should have given a warning, telling people to go back to their rooms. But there was no warning, so people thought the procession was allowed. Then there were two shots in the air, and more shots, shots and shots – people were falling down. I also fell down. Someone pushed me down. The CRPF took control of the area. There were a lot of dead and injured. But I was safe, no bullet. Then came somebody, they said I was still alive, and that fellow, an officer, came with a Bren gun, a light machine gun. He aimed at me and started firing.”

Farooq Ahmad survived. But few in Jammu and Kashmir have forgotten that incident. Human Rights Watch recently met with an eyewitness who recalled the events at Gaw Kadal.

“I remember that scene perfectly. There were so many people. I remember thinking that all of Srinagar must be out on the streets. They were shouting slogans and calling for freedom. There was a CRPF bunker just near the bridge. Suddenly the soldiers opened fire. It was machine-gun fire and all I could hear is the rat-a-tat sound. At that time, we were not used to the sound of firing like we are today. I think everyone was shocked. No one had expected the troops to start firing. Soon, there were people falling down all over the place. I remember the man standing next to me saying, ‘I know I have been shot but I can’t feel anything.’ I looked at him. And then I saw his foot. There was a bullet stuck inside his shoe… All around people were groaning with pain. Everyone that could ran away. I stayed where I was in case they fired at me. I stood there for many hours. Finally, the police brought trucks and started taking the dead and wounded away. But they had been lying there for many hours before the trucks came. I remember that there were dogs sniffing at the bodies. I will never forget one sight. I saw a dog eating a human arm.”

The shooting at Gaw Kadal Bridge and the way the Indian government responded may have been the turning point in the rebellion. As Human Rights Watch said in a May 1991 report, “In the weeks that followed as security forces fired on crowds of marchers and as militants intensified their attacks against the police and those suspected of aiding them, Kashmir’s civil war began in earnest”.Almost every day there were protests. Teachers, students, and government employees came out into the streets shouting slogans. At the same time, there were increased attacks from militants, now with a religious dimension. Hindu Kashmiris, called pandits, came under attack. Many were abducted or killed. Many received anonymous notes that were threatening and abusive.Thousands of pandits began to flee the Muslim-majority Kashmir valley, relocating to squalid camps in Jammu and Delhi. At least three hundred thousand Kashmiri Hindus still remain displaced.

The state administration, led by Jagmohan, sought to end the militancy and the mass protests through the increased use of force. Government forces fired live ammunition on crowds of unarmed demonstrators. Round-the-clock curfews were imposed for days in major towns to prevent protests.Paramilitary troops conducted large-scale searches, called “crackdowns” in Jammu and Kashmir. Residents were forced to gather outside while troops ransacked their belongings, looking for hidden weapons. Informers, in hoods, identified alleged militants to be taken into custody, who were then often tortured and sometimes killed.

No known action was taken against any CRPF officials who ordered their forces to open fire at Gaw Kadal, or against the officers present during the shooting. No public inquiry was ordered into the incident. The police did file complaints against demonstrators who pelted stones at security forces, but they were not investigated. Without an investigation into what exactly happened in Gaw Kadal, there will be no chance of holding those responsible accountable.

The consequences of Gawkadal and the failure to hold the security forces accountable have been far reaching. Many young Kashmiris began to join the militants, whose popularity shot up. One man told Human Rights Watch that he and other parents watched helplessly as their sons enlisted with the militants: “Boys, as young as fourteen or fifteen, crossed the border and came back with guns. No one could stop them.”

“Gaw Kadal remains an emotional and sentimental subject for Kashmiris even today”

THE CHAIRMAN HURRIYAT CONFERENCE (G) JANAB SYED ALI SHAH GEELANI  SAHIB ENFORCES COMPLETE SHUTDOWN TO SHUN INDIAN REPUBLIC DAY: SHOWKAT GEELANI

Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani Friday asked people to observe complete shutdown on January 26 to protest what he termed “ India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.”“India has no moral right to celebrate January 26 as its Republic Day while it continues to illegally occupy Jammu and Kashmir and denies the people of the region their internationally -recognized right to self determination,” Geelani said in a statement.
