ANNOUNCEMENT: SIKHS ARE PROTESTING ON APRIL 27, 2013 SATURDAY BETWEEN 11:00-1:00 PM AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY OF PROFESSOR DEVENDER PAL SINGH BHULLAR AT 365 BLOOR ST. EAST INFRONT OF CONSULATE GENERAL INDIA TORONTO: HABIB YOUSAFZAI
The Sikhs are protesting against the utilization of the death penalty as a political weapon in order to quell liberation movements in general, and specifically, against the case of Professor Devender Pal Singh Bhullar. It is a well known fact that the Indian government has a history of utilizing such a tactic in order to allow for the continued suppression of a populace and as such has illegally laid accusations on the leaders of various freedom movements. This has been witnessed in the case of Shaheed Afzal Guru and Shaheed Maqbool Butt who were hanged on false pretenses. Their only true “crime” was speaking out against the systematic and institutional slavery, repression, and domination by the Indian government. All individuals who stand for justice for humanity are invited to join in the protest.
