The Kashmir Diaspora Alliance would like to assert that the Indian government for decades has been oppressing and murdering those in the Maqbooza Kashmir also known as Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu and Kashmir (IDA:JK). This oppression and genocide has taken on an institutional form where the citizens of Maqbooza Kashmir have taken the status of second class citizens at best due to their minority religious distinction. The widespread and systematic dishonoring of women is also a common tactic used by the Indian armed and civil personnel in order to suppress and humiliate those that they have occupied. All the leaders of the freedom movement which have stood up for the right to self-determination and accession to Pakistan are falsely accused and judicially murdered. After decades of oppression and subordination; does the Indian government feel that through the use of propaganda alone they can have the masses internalize their ideology? The people of Kashmir will never forget the oppression and will never rest until Maqbooza Kashmir is free. In these troubled times, emancipation can only be achieved if all of humanity unites regardless of caste, creed, religion etc. especially those other oppressed and occupied groups within India such as the Sikhs. We must remember that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
