THE CITIZENS OF IDA: JK ARE
FAR BETTER OFF IN PAKISTAN: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE
ASSALAM-O-AKAIKUM!
It is important to
realize that the inability of Pakistan to hold onto a part of its territory in
the past is a result of both internal, but largely external factors. Internally
the state behaved in a corrupt and incompetent manner; however, this is a
factor present in every state. What we must really focus on though is the
external sphere. India holds great geostrategic importance in the Asia. As
such, the international community taking into consideration their own interests
has historically never justly pursued solving the case of Maqbooza Kashmir [AKA Internationally Disputed Areas
of Jammu and Kashmir IDA:JK by the UN].This rampant hypocrisy by the
international community including the UN reduces their “commitment” to the
right of self-determination and democracy to mere paper liberties. Another
extremely important factor in the external sphere is that India has
aggressively, using all its material capabilities, sought to destabilize
Pakistan. This is evident in the days of independence, in the 70s with East
Pakistan’s dismemberment, and even today.
Sitting on the sidelines
does not do anything; it is very easy to talk, but talk is cheap.
All these greedy nationalists (traitors like Mir Jaffar and Mir Saddiq) who are
not more than 2% would seek to weaken the Pakistan’s struggle for the freedom
of Maqbooza Kashmir (IDA:JK) are nothing more than parasites. They think of
nothing but the material and political power which they can gain from a
sovereign Kashmir. But the fact remains, a sovereign Jammu and Kashmir does not
exist. Jammu and Kashmir is legally the territory of the Pakistani state, and
the Pakistani state is the only viable actor with agency and a voice in the
international community. Pakistan is no heaven; it is far from it. However, the
14 million people of Maqbooza Kashmir (IDA:JK) along with the 42000 square
miles occupied by India rightfully belong to Pakistan. Furthermore, the
citizens of IDA:JK are far better off in Pakistan, free of rampant
discrimination, death, rape, and systematic institutional subordination.
