IT IS OUR
RELIGIOUS AND MORAL DUTY TO PREVENT ANY INJUSTICES COMMITTED AGAINST ANY HUMAN
BEING REGARDLESS OF WHERE IT TAKES PLACE, AND BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY: HABIB
YOUSAFZAI, KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE
ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!
Our
beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said whenever you observe an evil action; you
should first attempt to physically put an end to it. If you are not capable of
doing this, then you should express opposition to the actions by speaking out
against it. However, if due to certain extraordinary life threatening
circumstances one is unable to speak, then at the bare minimum, know that it is
wrong and despise the injustices taking place in your heart. Our beloved
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also said that help your brother whether he is an
oppressor or oppressed. Help him if he is an oppressor by preventing him from
subordinating others and if he is oppressed in the land then strive to
alleviate the conditions which are the cause of that oppression. The Indian government has situated more than 700,000
Indian soldiers in Maqbooza Kashmir. The originally occupied the territory on
the basis of maintaining law and order. Strikingly though, the territory remains
occupied until today, six decades later. So far, over 200,000 innocent human
beings have been slaughtered ruthlessly. These numbers do not take into account
the countless women which are being systematically dishonored in an attempt to quell
the resistance of the liberation movement. Just recently, on June 30, 2013, Irfan Ahmed Ganie and Irshad
Ahmed Dar two innocent civilians were killed who were the residents of Markundal village in Sumbal, Srinagar in
Maqbooza Kashmir. These are just two more individuals among the hundreds
of thousands in Maqbooza Kashmir which have unjustly lost their lives and add
on a scenario which remains one of the worst examples of oppression,
subordination, and domination in human history.
The Indian
government is clear through systematic means violating the human rights of the
people of Maqbooza Kashmir all on the basis of religious difference. The
question remains; what will it take in order for there to be widespread
stimulation of action and public outcry towards such conduct? By sitting on the
sidelines, should we as human beings not question our own humanity? It is
imperative to understand that it is not what you stand for; it is what you
stand UP for! Therefore, every single nation in the international community,
all multilateral organizations singing the mantra of peace and harmony, and
every human being living in any part of the world should stand up to oppose
this oppression by utilizing all necessary action.
