SAD PASSING OF JANAB ABDUL KHALIQ ANSARI: HABIB YOUSAFZAI, KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

Janab Abdul Khaliq Ansari (May Allah Almighty pleased with him) was a devout advocate, along with founder and president of the Plebiscite Front (Mahaz-e-Rayshumari). He recently died on March 15, 2013 in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. He was a very loving human being and stood for justice and freedom through his staunch support of the Kashmiri people. We all pray that Allah (SWT) raise his stature exponentially and give him a high stature in heaven.

In his last days as with the entirety of his activism, he offered great wisdom, albeit with a few reservations in putting forth a solution for the plight of the people of Maqbooza Kashmir. He stated that Pakistan cannot take back Kashmir by force. However, the problem remains that aside from force, realistic and viable options seem limited. Despite approaching the UN itself after India occupied Maqbooza Kashmir; it has not honored UN resolution 1948 for plebiscite which it proposed. It continues to commit atrocities for over six decades while aggressively altering the demographic situation in Maqbooza Kashmir in order to render the plebiscite useless. Yet, it also remains the fundamental impediment do the plebiscite. One thing that does remain clear is that any realistic and practical solution would have to involve the immediate withdrawal of all 700,000 Indian armed and civil personnel.
